Chick’s Pick – February

You asked…I’m here to deliver! I will be offering a new card kit each month free with a $75 order (afterVIP credits) from my website. Double Trouble #99

It’s time for more trouble…Double Trouble Papercrafting Challenge that is. This post is bittersweet for me as I will be leaving the Double Trouble Design Team. You’ll still see me around once in a while…I just won’t be participating as Twisted Sister …I will miss my alter-ego, but after much consideration have decided that I want to spend my time creating for me.

This week the challenge is “For those of you who are looking for open challenges in December… this is the challenge for you.  In December there are holidays, special events, and even bizarre and wacky days.  We have decided for this challenge the special event or theme: IT’S UP TO YOU.  Thing 3 is asking that you include a number – this could be an age, special date or even a calendar.

My card was inspired by two great nephews that were headed to the Washington State Highschool Football Championship Game. There mom sent out a call for notes of encouragement and I couldn’t resist reaching for my CTMH Paperdoll and Sports stamp sets and make some cute football players. My numbers were cut with my cricut…it reminded me how much I enjoy that little bug and I need to use him more often.

Double Trouble – #98

It’s time for more trouble…Double Trouble Papercrafting Challenge that is.

This week the challenge is a Something, Anything, Everything challenge with Twisted Sisters unusual twist of choosing ANYTHING FROM MY CARD.

“This Twist is on you… choose at least one element from my card below and include it on your project!  You may repeat my colors, my images, my shapes, my layout, or my embellishments. Choose at least one element, i.e. dry embossing, snowflakes, twine, plaid, banner, cookies/sweets, dots, etc.  Don’t keep us guessing… tell us what element(s) you selected as YOUR TWIST and include in your post description!

I am in love with the Macaron stamp set…not such a big fan of the cookie themselves, but the fun colors that they come in led me to create a sweet Christmas themed card for a friend.

Double Trouble – 97B

I’m pretty sure that Trouble Maker is going to choke me if I don’t get this post up, but good things come to those that wait and well now that I’m in Arizona (the same state as Trouble Maker) I decided I better get with it. She doesn’t scare me much two states away, but being an hour away that’s an entirely different scenario 🤣

Double Trouble #97A Deja- Brew

It’s time for more trouble…Double Trouble Papercrafting Challenge that is and today we have brewed up some extra fun while playing along with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

This week the challenge is to create a Coffee Lover’s Theme using any theme with the twist of using the Try Stamping On Tuesday sketch. It’s a good one and it gets you extra points if you use it.

I played with black & white and CTMH color of the year Wild Berry for a pop of color.

Double Trouble #96

It’s time for more trouble…Double Trouble Papercrafting Challenge that is.

Our challenge consists of three parts: Trouble Makers main challenge, Double Dares challenge to link with another blog which you may or may not decided to participate in and Twisted Sisters surprise challenge! You can find all the details on the rules page of the challenge blog.

This week the challenge is to create a tall & skinny card with at least one die cut and a twist to focus on the letter T. We also ask that you play along with Ellebelle’s Crafty Challenge.

First of all my tall & skinny card is a mere 3 1/8 x 6 1/4, but it’s taller and skinnier than my standard A2 card. I wasn’t sure what to do with the background so I grabbed a CTMH Originals Card Making How To Book and gained some inspiration from a 3.5 x 8.5 card with a little math I was on my way! I used scraps from a Pumpkin Spice paper pack and die cut a panel with the Stitched Rectangles to stamp on. Working with the colors from the papers I grabbed a retired stamp set and made a pretty fall almost leafless tree. A simple strip of Wild Berry Shimmer Trim peeks out from behind the stamped panel and a wooden heart is nestled in the leaves near the sentiment.

The Chicks Pick – October

With classes in The Coop currently on hold I wanted to come up with an idea that will keep you crafty – you may have already heard, but if not let me introduce you to The Chick’s Pick!

The Chick’s Pick will be new each month so make sure you’ve signed up to receive my blog posts by e-mail or check back here so you don’t miss out on the fun!

 Each month I will feature my current favorite stamp (because they are all favorites at one time or another) and create three cards that I hope you fall in love with.  Not only will you build your stamp collection with a new stamp (sometimes a thin cut too) you will receive pre-cut and pre-punched project supplies to make THREE cards (1 each of three designs) using the featured stamp set each month. Double Trouble – #95

This week the challenge is to create a Cute Halloween Card with a twist using Washi Tape

My card uses papers from the Boo Crew paper collection from Close to My Heart which I cut using the Sunburst Die Cut. The die was also used to cut a piece of black glitter paper which I layered to give the sunburst some dimension. Can you find my Washi Tape? I used a tiny piece of black & white stripe under my sentiment.

Thankful

This was such a fun card…I started by random stamping leaves in assorted fall colors to create my own background paper. The trick is to start with the largest stamp and using a loose triangular pattern. The CTMH Make It From Your Heart blog recently posted some stamping techniques that you want to keep up your crafty sleeves. It’s always fun to revisit these techniques. I also cut the die cut word four times – three times from white and once from Harbour stacked and glued them all together to add some simple dimension.

I’d love to know what your favorite part of fall is…I like trading in my t-shirts for sweatshirts.

I am having fun with the Autumn Is Calling stamp & thin cuts. I combined some die cut leaves stamped in Papaya & Harbour with the Pumpkin Spice Papers. I then grabbed the retired Happy Everything stamp set and added a scripty greeting.
